Our Story
Aquiroma is the European presence of Abd Majid Oud, established to provide fragrance houses, manufacturers, perfumers and industry professionals with direct access to our agarwood oils from within Europe.
Our work is supported by more than four decades of specialised experience in agarwood sourcing, production and distillation. We understand the different species, origins and production methods that shape the character of each oil.
We are not a general raw material trader. Agarwood is our specialisation, and we are directly involved in producing the oils we supply. This allows us to maintain control over quality and communicate clearly about the origin and production of each material.
Through Aquiroma, our European partners benefit from local stock availability, responsive service and a more efficient process for sampling, ordering and delivery. They receive direct access to an experienced producer with the technical documentation and regulatory support required for professional use.
Our Experience
Abd Majid Oud has worked with agarwood for more than 40 years.
Our experience covers every stage of production, from selecting the raw material to preparing, distilling and evaluating the final oil. It has been developed through practical work in agarwood-producing regions and long-standing relationships with plantations, suppliers and distillers across Southeast Asia.
Agarwood is not a uniform material. Its scent can vary considerably depending on the species, geographical origin, resin formation, quality of the wood and method of extraction. Soaking time, distillation duration and production equipment can also influence the final profile.
We use different production methods according to the raw material and the intended result. These include hydro distillation, steam distillation and, for selected materials, CO₂ extraction.
This experience allows us to produce a diverse range of oils while preserving the individual character of each origin.
Our Agarwood Oils
Our portfolio includes agarwood oils from different region.
Each origin offers a different olfactive direction. Some oils are animalic, leathery and intense, while others are woody, earthy, smoky, floral, fruity or balsamic.
Origin alone does not define an agarwood oil. The species, raw material and distillation method are equally important. For this reason, every oil is evaluated individually and presented according to its actual production and olfactive character.
Rather than treating oud as one standard scent, we offer it as a broad family of natural materials. This gives perfumers the opportunity to compare different expressions and select the oil that best supports their formulation.
Purity and Quality
We only supply oils that we produce.
Our oils are provided in their original form, without carrier oils, stretching agents or botanical adulterants. We do not blend materials to imitate another origin or create an artificial profile.
Every batch is evaluated before supply. Our assessment considers the raw material, olfactive profile, physical characteristics and consistency with the intended product. Analytical testing and technical documentation are provided according to the material and customer requirements.
Natural variation is expected when working with agarwood oil. At the same time, we carefully manage raw material selection and production conditions to maintain the consistency required for professional use.
For customers with ongoing requirements, we can support batch selection, reserve stock and future production planning.
Compliance
International trade in agarwood requires careful regulatory handling. Aquilaria species are regulated under CITES, and we provide the relevant documentation where required.
Documentation requirements differ between markets, companies and applications. We work directly with purchasing, quality and regulatory teams to provide the available information required for each material.
Our European operation allows us to manage communication, documentation and deliveries more efficiently for customers across the region.
